Building a 21st Century Military 101:19

Congressman John Murtha (D-PA) Congressman Joe Sestak (D-PA), Vice Admiral, US Navy (Ret.) Lt. Gen. Michael M. Dunn, President, Air Force Association, US Air Force (Ret.) Lt. Gen. Stephen Speakes, Deputy Chief of Staff, G8, Director of Force Development Discussion Moderated by: Lawrence J. Korb, Senior Fellow, Center for American Progress In a little over one month, a new administration will have the opportunity to manage a significant realignment of US defense and national security priorities. This process will not occur in a vacuum. Today's security imperatives and budgetary realities will require the next administration to make hard decisions and difficult trade-offs on competing visions of the military and its role in implementing national security strategy. These trade-offs will have wide-ranging consequences for the size and structure of the force, and which procurement and modernization options are feasible in order to advance overall US national security interests. In order to make these important decisions, the Center for American Progress is releasing "The Military Inheritance: A Call to Action for the Next Commander in Chief." The report evaluates the current state of the military; examines the current composition of the defense budget; defines the threats, challenges, and role of the US military in the 21st century; and gives CAP's recommendations of what difficult trade-offs the Department of Defense should make on key weapons systems.

Senator Arlen Specter, Sen. Casey and Congressman Carney sold out your Constitutional Rights!! 5:05

The good people of Virginia have joined the ranks of those freedom loving people who formed this great nation. They just passed a law making mandatory health insurance illegal in Virginia. State Rep. Matt Baker has a mirror bill called HB 2053 which protects the rights of those in Pa. Hopefully it will become law soon and undo the damage Specter, Casey , Murtha and Carney did. In fact Sen. Casey sent me an email almost boasting about how the Government can already vaccinate you against your own will... kicking and screaming. But what else is new, if this mandatory health bill passes and you don't have the degree of health insurance they want you to have, they will fine you, arrest you and jail you. I find this disgusting as I do Specter , Casey and Carney. God Bless Rep. Matt Baker for looking out for our rights.

Help Bill Russell raise $200000 by 9.11.08! We now know that Congressman Jack Murtha's long, public indictment of American Marines was factually wrong. Instead of "cold blooded killers," court rulings reveal a dramatically different story of personal courage under fire. True heroism. Lt. Col. Bill Russell's grassroots campaign is setting the record straight. By standing up for fellow veterans, military personal and average taxpayers, he's taking on one of Washington's most entrenched powerbrokers in what columnist Michelle Malkin calls a "David versus Goliath" contest. A survivor of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the Pentagon, Bill's campaign is a call to conservative reform and patriotic action. Won't you join us? Please consider an immediate donation of $100, $50 or $25 to help tell the whole truth to Pennsylvania voters.
