UT's incredible cover of the CCR classic. Last night I saw the fire burnin on The palace lawn. Over the land humble subjects watched in mixed Emotion. Who we burnin? Who we burnin? Effigy. Who we burnin? Who we burnin? Effigy. Last night I saw the fire spreadin to The palace door. Silent majority Weren't keepin quiet Anymore. Who we burnin? Who we burnin? Effigy. Who we burnin? Who we burnin? Effigy. Last night I saw the fire spreadin to The country side. In the mornin Few were left to watch The ashes die. Who we burnin? Who we burnin? Effigy. Who we burnin? Who we burnin? Effigy. Why? Why? Why?
In Dupont Circle, Washington DC, Jan 19 2009! Throwing shoes at a giant inflated effigy of GW Bush. Good riddance to George W Bush's destructive Presidency. The damage will never be undone. Throwing shoes is a symbolic gesture toward someone who deserves disrespect. George W Bush has well earned our disdain. This was a part of the Bush send-off, and the message here is that now that Bush is leaving, he should be held responsible for his actions. The Constitution must be restored and the United States must move beyond his legacy of terror. For those of you who commented that actions like this prove Obama supporters are poor winners, it doesn't. January 2009 is as much about finally ending Bush's reign as bringing in a new President. We finally have the opportunity to heal this country now that Bush has left office. "We can choose hope over fear."

It is a quarter-mile long serpent carved into the earth, and the world's largest prehistoric animal effigy (image). It is located on the bank of a monster meteorite crater. It is also the site of the nations first national park. It might be called America's Stonehenge or great pyramid. It is a world's first for many reasons: 1. It is the largest animal image or effigy earthwork in the world (1330 ft.). 2. It is one of world's greatest mysteries, its makers and purpose are unknown; it does not contain burials. 3. It was made to be seen from above, rather than ground level. It is more awesome that the Nazca lines of Peru, because the land had to be cleared before it was made. 4. It is astronomically aligned. Its head is aligned with the summer solstice, its coils with the winter solstice and the autumnal and spring equinox sunrises, and with the summer solstice sunrise. 5. It is carved into the side of one of world's largest meteorite craters (~ 5 mi. diameter), which is one of only a few such places in the US. The meteoric impact occurred in the Permian Period about 248 to 286 million years ago. 6. It is possible that the object that slamed into the earth to make the crater was an asteroid. 7. It was the first State Park in the US. 8. It is mysterious, because no meteorite was ever found in the area. 9. It is one of the ...
