Behind a monster performance from the Reggie Lewis Most Outstanding Player Marqus Blakely (Metuchen, NJ), the Vermont mens basketball team topped Boston University 83-70 in front of a sold-out Patrick Gym on Saturday afternoon to win the 2010 America East Championship. The Cats will now advance to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in school history, as they will find out where and who they will play on Sunday night at 6 pm when the NCAA Selection Show takes place live on CBS.

Duhon was a guard for the Duke Blue Devils men's basketball team from 2000 to 2004. In his senior year at Salmen High School in Slidell, Louisiana, Duhon was voted Mr. Basketball for the state of Louisiana, made the McDonald's All-American Team, and won the McDonald's Three Point Shootout. Duhon arrived at Duke in 2000, where he was an important role player, playing backup to point guard Jason Williams. Following the injury of fellow teammate Carlos Boozer, Duhon was placed into the starting lineup as point guard, with Williams moving to shooting guard. The Duke Blue Devils went on to win the 2001 National Championship, and Duhon was named the 2001 Atlantic Coast Conference Freshman of the Year. His sophomore season, Duhon again started in the Duke backcourt alongside fellow guard Jason Williams. That season, Duhon's reputation grew for his defense, court vision, and versatility as a point guard, averaging 2.3 steals per game, and 5.9 assists per game. University of Vermont mens basketball senior Marqus Blakely won the 22nd annual State Farm College Slam Dunk Competition on Thursday night at the Indiana Convention Center. Blakely becomes the first Catamount to win the dunk contest, after he defeated Bradleys Chris Roberts in the final on ESPN. ESPN announcer Brad Nessler opened the show by picking Blakely to win the competition and the senior started off with a 360 in the first round to earn a 45 out of 50. In his second dunk in the first round Blakely had teammate Evan Fjeld start off with a dunk that he then picked out of the net and also slammed. The dunk earned him a perfect score of 50 as he ranked second going into the semifinals. It also came it at No. 3 on ESPN's SportsCenter Top 10.
