Snow storm in Brantford, Ontario, Canada on the afternoon of March 8, 2008.
A series of Pacific Storms began pounding Southern California on January 17 and didn't completely end until early on January 24th, 2010. It left Big Bear Valley reeling from five feet of snow, power outages, road closures, chain requirements with people snowed in, snowed out and sleeping in emergency shelters. It was the most powerful storms seen since the "Great Storm of 1969" and if you could get to the slopes, the powder skiing and boarding was epic!
A major snowstorm hit New York City on February 10, 2010, with up to a foot of snow expected in the 5 boroughs. City schools are all closed and residents of Park Slope were out shoveling their sidewalks and enjoying the snow in Prospect Park. Here is a snowy postcard from Park Slope, Brooklyn.
December 15th - 16th A major snow storm affects all of Southern and Eastern Ontario and Quebec. The storm produced upwards of 35 centimetres of snow in parts of Toronto and the GTA. Portions of Eastern Ontario and Southern Quebec received 40 to 60 centimetres. The snow was whipped around by strong gusty winds creating some drifts. Needless to say with the snow banks above many cars and the official start of winter still several days away peoples spirits were high but I think based on peoples reactions everyone had more than enough snow for the entire winter. Well everyone but me. Enjoy the video! * Biggest storm since Jan 99 * Power outages due to wind Special Notes: Red Light at 00:28 - I did not run a red light, just as I was approaching the intersection a large blue flash, likely a transformer arcing, illuminated the sky to my distant left and all the street lighting beyond the intersection turned off. The lights at the intersection were also tripped and my green immediately turned to red changing the intersection into a 4 way stop. After I passed through the intersection while treating it as a 4 way stop my red light turned into a blinking yellow (slow down and proceed with caution) however this was not captured by the camera. None the less I did not illegally run a red light if you were wondering. Snow blower at 08:40 - This device is not actually a snow blower at all; the real thing could not fit into the car. What was being used is known as an electric shovel ...

December 19, 2009: A snow storm hits the NS Harrisburg Line early this winter season, and dumps a good amount of snow (though not as much as south of here), and makes some interesting winter-wonderland scenes with trains blasting their way through the cold with frozen horns. There were a good variety of trains, including late 212 and 214, both covered in icicles from traveling through the blizzard, and then the star catch of the day, 33A with very rare locomotives, including the last remaining blue SW1001 and one of two Conrail Operation Lifesaver GP38-2's. 4-wheel drive made this video possible. =] 212 - 08:25 NS SD60 6600 NS D9-40CW 9466 NS D9-40CW 9682 21E - 08:26 NS SD70 2504 NS ES40DC 7573 NS D9-40CW 8912 21E was unfortunately blocked, 212 came a lot sooner than I expected. 34A - 08:39 NS ES40DC 7711 NS D9-40CW 8786 14G - 10:27 NS D9-40CW 9495 NS D8-40C 8712 21M - 11:40 NS SD60M 6784 "Conrail Quality" NS ES40DC 7541 NS D9-40CW 9821 509 - 11:52 NS D9-40CW 9393 NS D9-40CW 9508 NS D9-40CW 9061 20W - 12:06 NS D9-40CW 9866 NS D9-40CW 9357 67Z - 12:08 NS SD70M-2 2754 NS D9-40CW 9177 (The cab window is open) 33A with an outstanding consist - 16:05 NS D9-40CW 9383 NS D9-40CW 9267 NS GP38-2 5610 NS GP38-2 5290 "Conrail Operation Lifesaver" NS SD40-2 3381 (Large font) NS SW1001 2100 "Conrail" 214 was late due to engine troubles amidst the blizzard - 16:34 NS D9-40CW 9114 NS SD60 6667 NS D9-40CW 9896 I0E (2nd section of 20E...cars from 214 at Rutherford) - 16:46 NS D9-40CW 9358 ...
